The style of music Jazz Byrds play is chosen to engage and connect with their audience. The volume must be just right to allow for intimate conversation & socializing. BEHIND THE SCENES WITH JAZZ BYRDS
About Us
Jazz Byrds started performing together in 2011 for a wedding. Since that first performance, they have played many different events, from in-home gatherings, weddings, to casual fine dining. Their music & arrangements over the years has evolved and they have found great joy and satisfaction working together in the creative music process.
Part of the evolution of their sound has included adding different flutes to their performances. Myrelle uses five different flutes when she performs. A bass flute, alto flute, piccolo, a silver flute with a wood head joint and a black plastic composite flute. She is a melody player and theses instruments allow her to express the emotion of the music and to give each song it's own unique voice
John plays a Gibson ES175, arch top guitar. This instrument has a wonderful mellow tone, that suits him perfectly. He is an experienced Jazz & Classical guitarist with a playing style that is sophisticated & elegant.
Music has the power to transport us to another time and place. Jazz Byrds love to harness that power with a broad repertoire. The music is romantic and seductive. The arrangements of Jazz Standards always gain a nod of approval from an audience of fellow music lovers and passionate musicians alike.

JAZZ BYRDS ALBUM
Their first full length album was recorded in March of 2020. It is a culmination of all the years they have been working together. Drawing on an eclectic selection of music that has inspired and influenced them both. John's ability to arrange, coupled with Myrelle's expressive melody playing, creates a refreshing sound scape for the listener.
The album was mixed and mastered by Oli Nezhati from We Make the Sounds. The photography was beautifully done by Montana Lee Photography and the CD design and pressing by Staci Patten at Accurate Audio.
